The Top 10 Words Used In Metallica’s Songs, And ‘Yeah’ Is Not One Of Them

Metallica is without a doubt one of the most popular metal bands of all time. Although it was formed in 1981 by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, it took the band some time to achieve worldwide fame and their popularity increased significantly after the release of ‘Master of Puppets‘ in 1986.

Although they’ve had a devoted fanbase since the beginning of their career, the number of people who love Metallica has been increasing every year due to their great music and reputation. In fact, they have such a devoted fanbase that a fan decided to take the time and create a word map to find out the word most used in Metallica’s songs.

What Are The Most Commonly-Used Words In Metallica’s Songs?

Just some weeks ago, a hardcore Metallica fan decided to figure out which words the band uses the most in their songs and then posted their results on Reddit. Well, you might have expected the most used word to be ‘death‘ or ‘kill‘ but it isn’t, and surprisingly, neither is Hetfield’s famous ‘yeah.’

Apparently, the word most used in Metallica’s lyrics is never.’ Although we definitely expected something dark, this pessimistic turn surprised us too. In their recent analysis, Loudwire pointed out how this actually makes sense when we think about the band’s most well-known songs.

For instance, ‘Enter Sandman‘ has the lyrics ‘Off to never never land,’ and then there are also some obviously never-themed songs such as ‘Through the Never’ or ‘The Day That Never Comes.’ Some other frequently used words are ‘one,’ ‘see,’ ‘away,’ ‘take,’ and ‘life’ which when read in a row give us some strong murder-y vibes.

Some fans commented that they would have expected ‘death‘ to be the most used word and that it certainly would be if it included variations such as ‘die’ or ‘dead.’ This shouldn’t come as a surprise as there are numerous compilations on YouTube which prove that the aforementioned argument makes sense.
