The Pop Star Mick Jagger Allegedly Hit On While She Was A Teenager
One of the most famous pop stars in the world, Katy Perry, is known for her cheerful and energetic songs such as ‘California Gurls,’ ‘Dark Horse,’ ‘Teenage Dream,’ and many more. The 36 years old singer has recorded six studio albums so far, her latest release being ‘Smile’ in 2020, and she has collaborated with many artists such as Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and Kanye West.
Even though Katy is a pop musician, she loves to listen to rock music. In fact, she even recorded a song with guitarist John Mayer, named ‘Who You Love,’ and signed vocals for the nu-metal band P.O.D’s ‘Goodbye For Now.‘ Besides that, Katy also collaborated with The Rolling Stones members more than once.
When Mick Jagger recorded ‘Old Habits Die Hard,’ Katy is doing in the back vocals. Furthermore, the famous pop singer also sang the 1978’s ‘Beast Of Burden’ live with The Rolling Stones during the ’50 & Counting’ tour in 2012 and 2013. However, there was an unfortunate event between Katy and Mick, which Mick rejects.
Did Mick Jagger Hit On Katy Perry?
During an interview with Australian radio, Katy revealed that they went for dinner with Mick Jagger when they were recording the ‘Old Habits Die Hard,’ and she claimed that Mick hit on her when she was around 18 years old.
While making this accusation, Katy didn’t seem upset about it. In fact, she defended Mick in the conversation and stated that this incident happened a long time ago, and he has been really kind ever since.
Katy Perry on Mick Jagger:
“I actually went to dinner with him one time and he hit on me one time when I was like 18. But that was a long time ago and since then he’s been very kind and I got to sing Beast Of Burden on his stage on their tour.”
Mick Refuses The Allegation Of Flirting With Katy Perry
Mick Jagger has also worked with various artists throughout his career. Aside from his work with The Rolling Stones, he also collaborated with many artists and musicians in his solo projects. The legendary singer recorded ‘T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever),‘ with Jennifer Lopez and Will.I.Am, ‘State Of Shock‘ with Michael Jackson, and ‘Dancing In The Street‘ with David Bowie.
None of these collaborations have led to any allegations or even rumors about Jagger. Nevertheless, Katy’s claim compelled Mick to respond, but the response came from Mick Jagger’s representative. As they said, Mick denied that hit on Katy Perry and wondered if she might be confusing him with someone else.
A representative of Mick Jagger said:
“Mick categorically denies that he has ever made a pass at Katy Perry. Perhaps she is confusing him with someone else.”
