The First Video From Mammoth WVH’s Opening For Guns N’ Roses

Mammoth WVH frontman Wolfgang Van Halen‘s mother Valerie Bertinelli shared a post on her official Instagram page revealing a video from the rocker’s first performance as the opening act for Guns N’ Roses. The seven-second video already has more than 15k views and fans have been celebrating this iconic moment under the post.

As many of you know, Wolfgang Van Halen first announced the thrilling news to his fans at the beginning of June and revealed that Mammoth WVH will be joining Guns N’ Roses for their summer tour. The first date of the tour was announced as July 31 at Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Following the exciting announcement, the Mammoth WVH founder opened up being the opening act for such a legendary band during an interview with Rolling Stone. According to the young musician, it’s still pretty much unbelievable and surreal for him to go on his first tour with Guns N’ Roses. In addition to this, Wolfgang stated that he’s excited to prove himself to the audience that isn’t necessarily there for them.

Wolfgang’s statement goes:

“Oh man, I still can’t believe it. It’s insane. Slash texted me when it was ready to go, and it was like, ‘See you out there, man. Looking forward to it’ and even then it still didn’t seem real, so yeah, I’m freaking out about it, it’s going to be really fun, but damn, what a first tour.

It’s going to be interesting and fun facing an audience that’s not necessarily there for you, but it’s not like you’re opening for Van Halen either, you’re doing the standard thing, you have to win over this audience who likes rock. I’m so excited to go out there and just prove myself, to let my own music stand up on its own two feet and prove it to everyone and just go for it.”

The first date of Guns N’ Roses’ summer tour finally happened and Mammoth WVH performed as the opening act at Hersheypark Stadium. It was Wolfgang Van Halen’s mother Valerie Bertinelli who shared the first footage from the concert on her official Twitter page.

In the seven-second video, Wolfgang Wan Halen can be seen performing his hit single ‘Don’t Back Down‘ from the band’s debut studio album. Although the video was pretty short, fans felt the energy of the performance and went on to praise Wolfgang for accomplishing so much in such a short time.

Many fans shared posts congratulating Valeri Bertinelli, telling her she must be proud of her son who has been working relentlessly as a solo musician despite having the hardest time after the passing of his father, Eddie Van Halen. According to many fans, Wolf did a fair job honoring his late father and creating his own path when it comes to his music.

A fan shared a tweet stating:

“Wolf is so amazing! Eddie would be so happy and proud of him. Great job Mama Bear! Now I want to see this show in Worcester!”

Another fan shared:

“An exciting and thrilling time for both of you and more to come for sure. Congratulations.”
