The Details About The Death Of David Coverdale’s Ex-Wife Are Revealed

A spokesperson for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department in California unveiled the details about Tawny Kitaen, who was Whitesnake’s David Coverdale’s ex-wife, and her cause of death.

As you might know, since she was a little girl, Tawny Kitaen wanted a pursue a career as an actress and model. She appeared in many movies, ‘Malibu,’ ‘California Girls,’ ‘The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak,’ ‘Bachelor Party’ and ‘Witchboard.’ However, she gained worldwide fame thanks to her appearances on Whitesnake music clips, ‘Still of the Night’ and ‘Here I Go Again.’

While she was acting on the clips, Kitaen was David Coverdale’s girlfriend and they got married in 1989 but their happiness didn’t last long and the couple divorced in 1991. Before her entrance into the music industry, Kitaen had unforgettable experiences with another rock star.

Therefore it can be said that Tawny Kitaen has become an important figure for both Coverdale and Roth fans. Unfortunately, Kitaen passed away on May 7, 2021, at the age of 59, and recently her cause of death was revealed by the sheriff’s department’s spokesperson. She died because of dilated cardiomyopathy and various drugs were found in her autopsy.

The spokesperson’s statement read:

“The 59-year-old’s cause of death was dilated cardiomyopathy. The manner of death was ruled natural.

Other significant conditions included mild coronary atherosclerosis (clogged arteries); mirtazapine (antidepressant), mirtazapine metabolite, alprazolam (Xanax), acetaminophen (Tylenol), pregabalin (nerve pain medication), and hydrocodone (opioid).”
