Testament Guitarist Alex Skolnick Fires Back at Ozzy Osbourne Critics on X

Alex Skolnick recently defended Ozzy Osbourne against criticism regarding his controversial past behavior, responding to fan discussions in a statement shared on X.

The Testament guitarist’s comments came in response to a fan debate about Ozzy’s relationship with spirituality and the impact of his notorious antics throughout his career.

“Totally agree (although not religious myself),” Skolnick said. “Many who railed against Ozzy – whether in politics, the clergy, parent/teacher groups or other so called ‘polite society’ – hurt countless others via wars, abuse or other cruelty. Ozzy hurt just one person: Ozzy, via his own excesses.”

When another fan disagreed, arguing that Ozzy had hurt others including his wife Sharon and band members through lawsuits and poor treatment, Skolnick responded with further clarification.

“I’m pretty sure Sharon and most of the band members would agree with my statement (Respectfully, I’m much closer to that world),” he continued. “A bad music biz deal isn’t good, but he’s far from alone there. And a dead bat and snorted ants are less concerning than war, abuse and removal of rights.”

The exchange highlights ongoing discussions about the legacy of controversial rock figures and their impact on both themselves and others.
