Ted Nugent recently addressed claims about his retirement from music, clarifying his position on touring and sharing upcoming performance plans in a statement featured on America’s Voice.

The rock musician outlined his upcoming live show schedule and responded directly to misconceptions about his career status.

“We’ll play in Arizona in April. We’re playing Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, Texas. The Ted Nugent roustabout hell-raising rhythm and blues soul music Little Richard dream band, James Brown dream band, John Coots on drums, Johnny Big on bass guitar. Billy Bob’s, Fort Worth, Texas on January 23rd, and then up with Aubrey and the gang at Heritage Hall in Ardmore, Oklahoma on January 24th,” Nugent said.

Nugent then addressed the retirement rumors directly.

“They say, ‘I thought you retired.’ I don’t know why you’d think that. Nobody ever said that. Just like idiots say things about me all the time that are just untrue. I never said I was gonna retire. I said I’m not gonna go on tour because then I’d have to leave home and Sadie, Jackson and Coco and Shemane would cry. When daddy leaves, they all cry. But when I come home, it’s like a howling orgy of happiness,” he continued. “Be sure you inject as many howling orgies of happiness as you possibly can in 2026. 250th anniversary of the American Dream.”

The clarification comes as Nugent continues to schedule select performances while maintaining his preference to stay closer to home.

Nugent’s upcoming performances reflect his commitment to maintaining an active concert schedule despite scaling back extensive touring. SeatGeek reported that the Fort Worth show at Billy Bob’s Texas on January 23, 2026, starts at 10:00 p.m. and is designated as an 18-and-over event.

The following night’s performance showcases Nugent’s approach to creating memorable concert experiences. JamBase noted that the Heritage Hall show in Ardmore, Oklahoma, on January 24, 2026, features opener Monte Montgomery at 6:00 p.m. VIP meet-and-greet upgrades are available separately through TedNugent.com.

Beyond these January dates, Nugent has additional performances planned throughout 2026. Etix confirmed he will perform at Round Mountain Live in Texas on March 21, 2026. This demonstrates his continued commitment to live performances across multiple venues.

The rock legend’s touring history reveals his dedication to live performance throughout his career. Pollstar documented that Nugent once performed a record 27 shows in a single month back in July 2005. This highlights the extensive touring schedule he has now chosen to modify in favor of staying closer to home with his family.
