Beartooth has released their new single “Bullshit.” The release marks the band’s first new song following frontman Caleb Shomo’s public coming out.

The new track is the latest offering from the band’s forthcoming album Pure Ecstasy, due August 28. The release comes shortly after Shomo made a personal statement publicly addressing his sexuality.

In his announcement, Shomo opened up about a deeply personal journey he had been navigating for some time.

“There’s been a lot of speculation surrounding my personal life as of late and I feel compelled to set the record straight before it affects those I love any further,” Shomo said. “I am a proudly gay man. This is something I’ve been unpacking and reckoning with in my life for quite some time now. It’s been difficult to navigate the feelings surrounding the subject and figure out what to do with this fact.”

Following the announcement, the band wasted no time in sharing new music with their fanbase. Beartooth confirmed the release alongside new merchandise and autographed vinyl.

“Our official lyric video for our new song ‘BULLSHIT’ is live now,” the band announced. “New merch and autographed vinyl is also available in our web-store.”

“Bullshit” arrives as the third single from Pure Ecstasy, following previously released tracks “Pure Ecstasy” and “Free.” The release signals a steady and deliberate rollout ahead of the album’s August 28 release via Fearless Records. Shomo described the new single as a conscious return to the band’s roots, calling it “a familiar song I’ve written many times” and noting his desire to revisit the older Beartooth style that sparked “healing and discovery” early in the band’s career.

Pure Ecstasy will be Beartooth’s sixth studio album. The full tracklist includes “Eyes Closed,” “Beautiful Again,” “Stadiums,” “Sorry,” “Lose You To Find Me,” “You,” “For Me By Me,” and “Made It,” alongside the already-released singles.

To support the album, Beartooth has announced an extensive world tour. The European leg kicks off September 17 in Frankfurt, Germany. The North American run follows, beginning November 11 in Boston, with major stops including New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom and Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium. Support on the tour will come from Don Broco, Magnolia Park, and Windwaker.

The release of “Bullshit” and the broader Pure Ecstasy campaign represent a significant chapter for Beartooth. They arrive at a moment of both personal and artistic openness for Shomo, with a full album and a world tour on the horizon.
