Taylor Momsen Says She Inspired Girls And Women To Start Writing Music

The Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen recently spoke about her influence as a woman to her fans during an interview with iHeart Radio. The successful rockstar stated that she thinks she inspired girls and women to listen to rock and become rock stars.

Taylor Momsen appeared on the musical ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ as Cindy Lou Who in 2000, also starring Jim Carrey. Later, she became known as Jenny from ‘Gossip Girl,’ which she took apart for four seasons until she decided to leave the acting career behind. In 2009 she ventured off to music and became the frontwoman of The Pretty Reckless.

Her powerful voice and rock star appearance attracted much attention with her long blonde hair and smokey eye makeup. With her talent and looks, she managed to become one of the most prominent rock star figures and is continuing to draw fans’ attention with new records. Momsen showed the world the power of women and became an icon of confidence which surely affected other women and girls worldwide to gain confidence and display talents.

In a recent interview, Momsen said she doesn’t want to say that she’s a role model, but she thinks she influenced women and girls to learn instruments, play in a band and listen to rock music. She said that she is doing something right by sharing her talents, and seeing her career’s impact on other people is fantastic.

Momsen’s statement about being an inspiration follows:

“I never wanna say that I’m a role model or anything. I would get asked that, and I’m like, ‘I don’t want that pressure,’ but it is cool to see that hopefully, I think I’ve inspired some other girls and women to pick up instruments and start writing songs and playing in a band and listening to great rock and roll records. And I think that that’s awesome. If I can share that with anyone, then I’m doing something right.”
