Recently speaking with the U.K.’s Glamour magazine, Sydney Sweeney embraced her appearance in the Rolling Stones video for ‘Angry’ from the band’s latest album ‘Hackney Diamonds.’

Despite facing anti-feminist criticisms online, the ‘Euphoria’ actress denied being sexually objectified in the music video, explaining:

“I felt hot. I picked my own outfit out of racks and racks of clothes. I felt so good in it. One of the questions I get is, ‘Are you a feminist?’ I find empowerment through embracing the body that I have. That’s sexy and strong, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. I’m in a Rolling Stones video. How cool and iconic is that?”

Emphasizing her positive experience, Sweeney continued:

“All the moves, everything I was doing was all freestyle. I mean, who else gets to roll around on the top of a convertible driving down Sunset Boulevard with police escorts? It’s the cool things in this career that I had no idea I’d get to do.”

Damon Albarn’s Critique Of The Video

Blur’s lead singer Damon Albarn was one of the critics of the Rolling Stones video. He shared his thoughts in an interview with the French magazine Les Inrockuptibles, stating:

“[I] watched this horrible music video showing [The Stones] at different stages of their lives on billboards. And this young woman objectified. What the hell is this? There’s something completely disconnected.”

In the video, Sdyney wears a leather corset and studded chaps while enjoying ‘Angry’ in a car. As the car moves along a well-known Los Angeles road, it goes by billboards showing the Stones from different times in their career, which become animated.
