Suicide Silence vocalist Eddie Hermida has addressed criticism regarding the band’s position as support act on Slaughter To Prevail’s upcoming tour. He defended the decision in a statement shared on Suicide Silence’s YouTube channel.

Hermida’s comments directly responded to fan backlash questioning why established bands like Suicide Silence and Dying Fetus would open for the Russian deathcore act.

“Every single person talking sh*t is going to be going to at these f*cking shows,” Hermida said. “Look, anybody who is doubting—anybody who says that Suicide or Dying Fetus need to be above Slaughter To Prevail—just go to a Slaughter show; look at how many people they f*cking draw.”

The vocalist emphasized his respect for the headlining band’s success and impact on the genre.

“It is a f*cking honor to be on tour with them,” he continued. “It is f*cking cool to see a younger band taking the reins of deathcore and taking it way further than we ever did. Like, this is a proud moment for us. And if you f*cking think otherwise, fu*k you.”

Drummer Mark Garza also weighed in on the tour’s scale and Slaughter To Prevail’s drawing power.

“For some people that don’t know, some of these shows are arenas, because Slaughter is that big,” Garza said. “Regardless what you think about them or say about them, they’re f*cking doing it, man.”

He concluded by highlighting the disconnect between online criticism and real-world success.

“The real world and the comments are two different worlds,” Garza added. “You can talk sh*t on them all you want, but there’s arenas on the f*cking tour—that’s crazy.”

The controversy surrounding the tour lineup reflects broader discussions about hierarchy and success metrics within the deathcore scene. This is particularly relevant as newer bands achieve mainstream recognition.

Songkick data revealed that Slaughter To Prevail’s upcoming tour dates demonstrate their significant drawing power. Performances are scheduled across major venues that validate Hermida and Garza’s statements about the band’s commercial success. The Russian deathcore act has built a substantial following that extends well beyond their home country.

Ticketmaster listings confirmed that the tour includes arena-sized venues. This supports Garza’s claims about the scale of Slaughter To Prevail’s performances. This level of venue booking typically indicates strong ticket sales and established fan bases in multiple markets.

The band’s official tour information from their website showed an extensive touring schedule that spans multiple continents. The schedule includes stops in Helsinki and various U.S. cities. This international reach demonstrates how Slaughter To Prevail has successfully expanded their audience beyond traditional deathcore demographics.

Slaughter To Prevail’s live performances have earned recognition for their high-energy delivery and crowd engagement. These factors contribute to their ability to headline major venues. Their concerts consistently feature dynamic stage presence and technical proficiency that resonates with both longtime deathcore fans and newer audiences discovering the genre.
