Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor recently discussed his foundation work and outreach efforts to support first responders and veterans dealing with PTSD. He shared his statement on The Firearm Industry Trade Association.

Taylor spoke about his Taylor Foundation’s mission at the 2026 SHOT Show. He emphasized their focus on building relationships with law enforcement, EMTs, and first responders.

“Hey everybody, Corey Taylor here with the Taylor Foundation, our first time here at the 2026 SHOT Show, trying to build a relationship with the people who come here, the various members of law enforcement, EMT, first responders, and their family, anyone who’s dealing with PTSD,” Taylor said.

The foundation focuses on connecting with grassroots organizations that provide direct support to those in need.

“What we do as a foundation is we try to outreach to those people who are affected with it, but also to find the smaller organizations that actually are boots on the ground, face first, face to face, the human element who are actually helping people in their communities and in their cities,” he continued. “And it makes it a little more personal.”

Taylor encouraged those interested to learn more about the foundation’s work and support their mission.

“If you’re interested in finding out what my foundation is all about, go to WeAreGTF.org and learn all you can,” he said. “We support a bunch of smaller organizations that help vets, EMT, law enforcement deal with PTSD and their families. So if you’re interested in that and want to help support us, go check it out and stay safe out there.”

Taylor’s appearance at the SHOT Show represents a significant expansion of his charitable efforts beyond the music industry. It demonstrates his commitment to addressing mental health challenges faced by those who serve their communities.

The Firearm Industry Trade Association reported that The Taylor Foundation (TTF) is a non-profit organization that supports active military personnel, veterans, and first responders in their pursuit of connection and healing. The foundation’s mission extends beyond traditional charity work by focusing on building meaningful relationships with those who risk their lives for public safety.

The foundation made its presence known at the 2026 SHOT Show by setting up operations at booth 70327 in Caesars Forum. Attendees could learn about partnership opportunities and the organization’s ongoing initiatives there. Wayward Son noted that the foundation was established by the Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman as part of his broader mission to address mental health issues within the first responder and military communities.

The foundation’s approach emphasizes grassroots support. It works directly with smaller organizations that provide face-to-face assistance to those struggling with PTSD and related mental health challenges. This strategy allows for more personalized care and ensures that resources reach those who need them most at the community level.

Taylor’s foundation work represents a growing trend among musicians who use their platform to address serious social issues, particularly mental health awareness and support for veterans and first responders. The foundation’s website can be accessed at both WeAreGTF.org and wearettf.org. This provides multiple entry points for those seeking information about their programs and support services.
