Slipknot has teased a new song since the joining of the new drummer, Eloy Casagrande.

The band has been quiet ever since they unexpectedly dropped an EP, ‘Adderall’ last year. And more recently, the rockers dropped hints about their new upcoming song, ‘Long May You Die.’ Slipknot took to Instagram to share a post about the new song. They wrote:

“Slipknot fans are talking amongst themselves about ‘Long May You Die’ being a new song written during the recent recording sessions.”

They confirmed the rumors with the words:

“‘You’re right. You’re absolutely right.'”

Casagrande On Being A Part Of Slipknot

In addition to the news, the new drummer mentioned what he was trying out with the band in an interview. Apparently, they went over both old and new songs. Casagrande told Kerrang:

“I think that was also part of the audition, they threw new ideas at me to see what my songwriting was like. They wanted to test me in every way.”

He added:

“I’m still trying to understand how the dynamics of the band work — it’s not so clear yet how things work in terms of records and new songs. We’ve written a few things, and they’re shelved for the time being…”

The song title was also the slogan on a billboard the band put up last month.

While there’s no release date yet for ‘Long May You Die,’ Slipknot has confirmed they will be hitting the road this fall for their ‘Here Comes the Pain’ tour.
