Skid Row’s Dave ‘Snake’ Sabo congratulated Soundgarden for their Rock Hall nomination.

Each band member made a statement on Instagram about a nominee for Rock Hall. “Soundgarden were able to combine incredible musicianship with unique song structures, inventive lyrics, and beautiful melodies to create a sound and presence all their own,” Sabo said in his message to Soundgarden.

The guitarist added, “In the midst of a new global musician and cultural movement they stood out on their own because they were always uncompromising, original, and simply a great band. They absolutely deserve this recognition.”

Another Skid Row member Rachel Bolan congratulated the Black Crowes for their nomination. He said he was proud of his counterparts. Rob Hammersmith, on the other hand, sent a message to Oasis.

The drummer championed Oasis’ punk-rock attitude and praised their musical depth. Guitarist Scotti Hill congratulated Billy Idol on his nomination. He said he has been a fan of Idol throughout his career and finds his nomination well-deserved.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced the 2025 nominees. On February 12, 14 nominees were revealed, and Soundgarden is in the running again for the third time, after previous nominations in 2020 and 2023, per Revolver. Even though they weren’t inducted before, drummer Matt Cameron is already in the Hall as part of Pearl Jam, who were inducted in 2017.

This year’s Rock Hall nominees include Soundgarden, Bad Company, the Black Crowes, Mariah Carey, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, Cyndi Lauper, Maná, Oasis, Outkast, Phish, and The White Stripes.

The nominees are chosen by over 1,200 artists, historians, and industry figures. Fans can also vote. The Rock Hall will announce the Class of 2025 in April, along with which artists will perform at the ceremony, which will be held in Los Angeles next fall.
