Sheryl Crow Recalls Keith Richards Getting Angry At Kid Rock

Keith Richard and Kid Rock… Their reputation already tells us that these two coming together could result in a dispute that would probably escalate pretty quickly. That’s why the story Sheryl Crow told in her interview with ‘Fly on the Wall’ was not a surprise to any of us.

“In New York — I think it was in the late ’90s, maybe — we would show up once a week at Shine, which was a club downtown,” she said while recalling the times when they were jamming in the clubs of NY. “We’d do all covers. And any given night — Mike Mills, Stevie Nicks sat in with us, Keith Richards sat in with us. Anyway, Kid Rock came down.”

She continued, “And it was the same night that Keith sat in. And Kid kept yelling Keith’s name — ‘Keith Richards! Keith Richards!’ And Keith got really mad. Like, irritated. He’s like, ‘Quit saying my f*cking name!’ And at one point, I’m just like, ‘Okay, I’m not sure how to manage.’ You know, we’re doing all these bad ’90s covers. But, yeah, he’s a lot of fun.”

Driving Keith Richards crazy only by saying his name was probably something that only Kid Rock could do since he is known for his controversial views, offensive statements, and antics. Despite everything, he and Sheryl Crow have been friends for a long time, and they have also collaborated on several projects.

Although Crow probably has numerous stories featuring prominent rock musicians, her life story is also quite interesting. The musician contributed to the rock scene through her works combining pop and rock, and even though she experienced sexism, she persevered and became a source of inspiration for women considering a similar career. Also, she did all this while battling breast cancer. Those interested should check out her new documentary, ‘Sheryl,’ which is now streaming on Showtime.
