Osbourne recalled how Ozzy reacted to the reviews of his farewell show in Birmingham. She described his happiness about the concert but also his puzzlement at the positive response he received.

“He was just so, so happy,” Sharon said. “He was online, going through the reviews and saying, ‘There’s something terribly wrong’, and I’m like, ‘Why?’. He goes, ‘I didn’t get slagged by anybody. Why are people being nice to me?’ And I’m like, ‘Because they like you’.”

Sharon also reflected on the night of Ozzy’s death. “I was asleep. We’d spoken in the night. Ozzy had woken in the night and he asked me to kiss him twice, and I did. And then he said, ‘Hold me, hold me tight,’ and I did. And then the next thing I know, it’s early in the morning, and someone comes rushing into the room saying, ‘Come down now’. I ran down, and that was it.”

These remarks came as Sharon looked back on the period following Ozzy Osbourne’s passing at the age of 76.

Ozzy had faced serious health challenges in the years leading up to his final performance. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2020, and in February 2023 he announced he was canceling his upcoming tour and retiring from touring because of health concerns. Despite his physical difficulties, Ozzy wanted to say goodbye properly to his fans with a final show in Birmingham, where he was from.

On July 5, 2025, Osbourne performed his final show at the “Back To The Beginning” farewell concert in Birmingham. The event featured the original lineup of Black Sabbath reuniting for the first time in 20 years, along with performances from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Jack Black and Steven Tyler. Ozzy was seated for the performance, as his health had continued to decline over the previous years.

Ozzy died 17 days after the concert on July 22, 2025, at age 76. His death certificate listed the causes as cardiac arrest, myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease. The farewell show proved to be not only his final concert but also his last public appearance before his death.
