Sharon Osbourne recently opened up about why she abandoned a rumored assisted suicide pact with her late husband Ozzy. She addressed the deeply personal decision in an interview shared on Pierce Morgan Uncensored.

Osbourne explained that her children—Kelly, Aimee, and Jack—played a crucial role in her decision to reconsider the pact. She reflected on a pivotal moment during one of her mental health struggles when she witnessed firsthand the devastating impact of suicide on families.

“I would have just gone with Ozzy. Oh, yeah, definitely, I’ve done everything I wanted to do,” Osbourne said. “But they [our kids, Kelly, Aimee, and Jack] have been… unbelievably, just magnificent with me, all three of them.”

She went on to describe the experience that changed her perspective. “Years ago, when I had one of my mental breakdowns, I went into a little facility to help with my head. There were two girls over there. They didn’t know each other, but they were in there, each [of their] mothers had committed suicide. I saw the state that these two young women were in and what it had done to their lives, and I thought, I will never, ever, ever do that to my kids.”

Osbourne’s candid remarks shed light on how witnessing the trauma experienced by suicide survivors’ families influenced her decision to prioritize her children’s wellbeing over the pact with Ozzy.

The revelation comes nearly five months after Ozzy Osbourne’s death in July 2025 at the age of 76. Prime Timer reported that the 73-year-old stated she had made an assisted suicide pact with the Black Sabbath frontman before his passing. The pact had been discussed between the couple as a contingency plan in the face of terminal illness or severe health complications.

Sharon has publicly discussed the assisted-suicide pact with Ozzy in past writings and interviews, including in her memoir. She revealed they had considered organizations like Dignitas if either developed severe dementia. YouTube coverage of the Piers Morgan interview showed that nearly five months after her husband Ozzy Osbourne died following a battle with Parkinson’s disease, Sharon shared her emotional decision to abandon the pact and continue living.

The decision to step back from the pact represents a significant turning point in Sharon’s life following Ozzy’s death. Her focus shifted entirely to her responsibility as a mother and the potential harm her actions could have caused to her children. This realization became the cornerstone of her choice to move forward with her life rather than follow through on the agreement she and Ozzy had made years earlier.

Family members have responded to media coverage of the pact with varying perspectives. IMDb News noted that Kelly Osbourne has publicly criticized media coverage and described some reports as sensationalized or inaccurate. This highlights the complexity and sensitivity surrounding the family’s private discussions about end-of-life planning.
