Sex Pistols’ Glen Matlock Names Only Two Singers He’d Collaborate With

During a recent interview with NME at Glastonbury 2023, where he performed with Blondie, Glen Matlock spoke about his future projects and revealed two figures he wanted to work with. He said:

“I’d like to have done something with Bryan Ferry in his prime. I wouldn’t mind doing something with Iggy [Pop] again, actually. I saw him in the States, and it was great. I’m looking forward to seeing him on Saturday.”

As a member of Blondie, the bassist is set to perform with Pop at Dog Day Afternoon in London’s Crystal Palace Park this Saturday. Additionally, he has plans for a reunion with Clem Burke and Katie Puckrik to celebrate the former Stooges vocalist’s ‘Lust For Life’ album with a UK tour in 2024.

Other names like Kevin Armstrong and Florence Sabeva will join the trio to perform the album in full and revisit songs from the members’ separate careers.

Here’s what Matlock said about the upcoming shows and working with these names in a statement earlier this year:

“To be on stage with these fellow like-minded guys and gals and celebrate our collective musical ancestries is always a pleasure, so come on down and let’s all hit the roof together.”

Matlock’s schedule includes more performances with Blondie, who will take the stage at the Lytham Festival and Malahide Castle in Dublin this week. There are also upcoming solo shows for him in Belfast and Dublin.
