Sepultura have officially announced the date and location of their final show ever, bringing their long farewell tour to an end in Brazil.
The legendary Brazilian metal band will play its last concert on November 7, 2026, at Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu in São Paulo, Brazil. The show will be part of the band’s “Celebrating Life Through Death” farewell tour and will feature Metal Allegiance, Krisiun, and Sacred Reich on the bill.
The concert marks the final chapter of a career that began more than four decades ago. Sepultura first announced their farewell tour in December 2023, explaining that they would celebrate their history with fans around the world before ending the band.
The choice of São Paulo is not random. The band had previously said that the final show would likely happen in Brazil, with guitarist Andreas Kisser mentioning São Paulo as the main idea for a major closing concert.
The venue also carries special meaning for Sepultura. The band said the “last chapter” will be written at Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu, a place connected to their history. In the early 1990s, Sepultura played an important concert at Praça Charles Miller, in front of the stadium, which became part of the band’s legacy in Brazil.
This final show will close one of the most important stories in heavy metal. Sepultura started in Belo Horizonte in 1984 and went on to become one of the most influential metal bands to ever come from South America. Their mix of thrash, death metal, groove metal, and Brazilian rhythms helped give the band a unique identity on the global stage.
Over the years, albums like Beneath the Remains, Arise, Chaos A.D., and Roots made Sepultura one of the defining names in extreme metal. Even after major lineup changes, the band continued to tour and record for decades, keeping its place as a major force in heavy music.
The farewell tour has been presented not only as an ending, but also as a celebration. The title “Celebrating Life Through Death” reflects the band’s idea of closing the story with energy, gratitude, and a full look back at its history.
There has also been discussion about whether former members could appear at the final show. Earlier in 2026, Kisser said founding members Max and Iggor Cavalera had been invited, but claimed they did not want to take part.
For now, the confirmed final concert is set: November 7, 2026, in São Paulo.
After more than 40 years, Sepultura will return to a place tied to its Brazilian history and say goodbye in front of its home crowd.
