As the debates about gun control in the US continue, the recent news regarding a mass shooting in Michigan has fueled opinions on the matter. Sebastian Bach, among many others, reacted negatively to the saddening news on his Twitter account.
Former Skid Row vocalist had expressed his opinion on the topic of gun rights several times before. Following the school shooting news from Texas, Bach drew attention to gun control and called out the people who supported gun rights on his Twitter account last year. Similarly, after the latest news regarding the shooting taking place at Michigan State University, the musician shared his ideas once again on social media.
In response to a tweet defending gun rights by stating some people’s need for hunting, Bach initially said that people with children would like them to go to school safely. When the owner of the original post implied that Bach didn’t understand him because he was ‘rich and knows all,’ the musician confirmed that he did not understand.
He claimed that his status is not related to the Michigan State University incident, and he simply wants people to be safe at school. In a second tweet following that, he emphasized his point and also added that he does not understand how people can ‘disagree with that.’
Bach’s tweets regarding his opinions follow:
“No, I don’t see what you’re saying. Whether I am rich or not has nothing to do with what happened today at Michigan State University. I don’t want kids to die at school; if you don’t like me for that, then that’s on you.”
The singer continued in the following post:
“I just want a country where kids can go to school in safety and not wake up to this misery every single day. I can’t see how anybody could disagree with that.”
It seems like the debates on the gun problem and school shootings in the US have flared up again with the news of the shooting in Michigan. While many contradicting ideas are shared on social media, Sebastian Bach’s opinion on the matter apparently sides with gun control for the safety of children and students. Bach believes that gun usage should be taken under control to protect children from harm.
