Sammy Hagar Shares The Backstory Of An Iconic Photo Of All Van Halen Members

Former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar posted a picture of Van Halen members, Eddie and Alex Van Halen, Michael Anthony, and himself, on Instagram and revealed a hilarious story about why they were laughing so hard while the photo was taken.

As you might recall, last week, the British rock and roll photographer Ross Halfin shared the exciting news of his latest project which will be dedicated to the late guitar legend, Eddie Van Halen. According to the announcement, Halfin’s 320-page photo book, ‘Edward Van Halen By Ross Halfin,’ will feature many popular and also unseen pictures from Van Halen’s first trip to the UK through to the Sammy Hagar era.

Recently on Instagram, Sammy Hagar posted a picture of himself along with his bandmates from Van Halen to show support to Halfin’s upcoming book release. In the caption of his post, Hagar mentioned that the highly-anticipated photobook will include some great shots and good memories. He also gave an example by displaying a picture that was taken by Ross’ photographer and he exited the Van Halen fans by sharing the backstory of the iconic photo.

In the comment section of his post, Sammy stated that he wanted to come clean about the picture of Van Halen members since they all seem to be having a great time laughing together. According to the Van Halen icon, the real reason why they were all laughing was that they decided to fancy up a little bit before they walked into the studio just to mock with the photographer.

Apparently, they were all laughing at the reaction of the photographer who was too intimidated to say anything about their outfits and just took the pictures. Hagar stated that they used to enjoy doing this kind of thing for the photo sessions to ‘fuck with the photographer.’

Here is what Sammy Hagar stated in the caption of his post:

“Ross Halfin’s new book ‘Edward Van Halen by Ross Halfin’ dives deep into his Van Halen archives including the Van Hagar era. Some great shots and good memories! Check it out here: www.rufuspublications.com/rufusbooks/eddievanhalen”

Here’s how Hagar depicted the backstory of the picture of Van Halen members:

“OK, I’m gonna come clean on this one. The reason we were laughing is that right before we walked out for this photo session we decided to spiff it up a little bit to fuck with Ross’s photographer.

He was expecting a whole different look so we were laughing at his reaction because he was intimidated about saying anything and just started shooting and acting like nothing that is happening. We did this kind of shit all the time for photo sessions. Always fuck with the photographer😂😂”

Ross Halfin’s 320-page photo book is now available for pre-order in two different editions, one of which includes a 3D lenticular cover, signed by Ross Halfin and costs £275 while the regular edition retails at £89 and has its own cloth slipcase
