Sammy Hagar Reacts To Wolfgang Van Halen’s Jimmy Kimmel Show Performance

Former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar shared an announcement on his Instagram account regarding the new episode of his ‘Top Rock Countdown’ show, yet Van Halen fans were more curious about his thoughts on Wolfgang Van Halen‘s first live performance with his band, Mammoth WVH.

As you may know, Sammy Hagar has been conducting various businesses including his restaurant in Mexico and his tequila brand named ‘Santo Spirit.’ The 73-year-old rock icon has also been working on his projects with his band, The Circle, which was formed by Hagar, original Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham, and guitarist Vic Johnson.

Recently on Instagram, Sammy shared a new picture of The Circle members to announce that the new episode of his ‘Top Rock Countdown,’ which will be aired on February 13th and 14th, will have the theme of lockdown and feature songs from Sammy & The Circle’s new album ‘Lockdown 2020.’ Yet, the devoted fans of Van Halen were focused on another subject that they all wondered very much.

In the comment section of the post, a fan has sent a question to Sammy wondering what he was thinking about the late guitar legend Eddie Van Halen’s son Wolfgang’s first-ever live show with his band Mammoth WVH. As you may recall, Wolfgang and his band joined the Jimmy Kimmel Live show on February 11th to perform the songs from his highly-anticipated album live for the first time. In his response to the fan’s question, Sammy Hagar stated that he actually thought Wolfgang and his band did a great job on the show.

Here is what Sammy Hagar wrote in the caption of his post:

“Tune in to your local rock radio station for this week’s episode of Sammy Hagar’s ‘Top Rock Countdown,’ airing Feb 13th and 14th, 2021! The theme for this show is Lockdown, featuring music from Sammy & The Circle’s new album ‘Lockdown 2020’ as well as original versions of these classic songs, and a little more from Sammy. Here is what a Van Halen fan asked in the comment section of Sammy’s post:

“Sammy did you watch Wolfgang Van Halen ( MammothWVH) on Jimmy Kimmel show Thursday night???”

To which Sammy Hagar replied:

I thought he was great

Wolfgang Van Halen also shared his feelings about his performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live by sharing a tweet on his official Twitter account. Wolf stated that it certainly wasn’t easy for him to perform on the stage for the first time after the passing of his father. However, the responses he received from the fans were so great that he thanked everyone who showed their ultimate support.
