Sammy Hagar’s Black Sabbath plans have stirred the Van Halen reunion rumors.
“How could anyone refuse to be in this lineup!” the former Van Halen singer wrote on Instagram, sharing Black Sabbath’s lineup for the final concert. “‘Flying High Again’ and ‘Rock Candy’ got my choice of guitar, bass, drums guess who I’m gonna be jamming with.”
Fans were quick to offer Hagar some names. One person said, “Imagine Sammy with AVH on drums, WVH on guitar and Michael Anthony on bass for this.”
“You have to have Wolf join you for an old school VH song…. if he’ll do it,” another one wrote in the comments. “Is it me or have you and Wolf been doing a lot of events together lately?” one other individual added.
Black Sabbath will reunite for a final concert on July 5 in Birmingham. The original lineup will play together one last time at Villa Park. The charity event, ‘Back to the Beginning,’ will support Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice.
Wolfgang Van Halen was already announced as one of the names who will perform in the concert. Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Anthrax, Alice in Chains, Gojira, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Billy Corgan, Tom Morello, Fred Durst, Jonathan Davis, Wolfgang Van Halen, and others will also appear there. Morello will also serve as the musical director for the night.
“It’s my time to go ‘Back to the Beginning’… time for me to give back to the place where I was born. How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham forever,” Ozzy Osbourne said in a statement.
Still, fans are unhappy with Black Sabbath’s final concert ticket prices, which range from £197.50 to £834. Many say the costs are too high, even for a charity event. Some suggest a public screening to make it more accessible.
