Sammy Hagar has extended an invitation to Wolf Van Halen to join him for a potential Van Halen tribute performance. This was revealed in a recent interview with 101 WRIF.

The former Van Halen frontman expressed his desire to collaborate with Eddie Van Halen’s son on a special performance featuring classic Van Halen material.

“Hey Wolf, let’s do a residency someday – just one show of Van Halen songs!” Hagar said. “That would be awesome!”

The proposal suggests a Las Vegas-style residency show that would celebrate the Van Halen legacy. Both former and current members of the Van Halen family would participate.

Hagar’s invitation comes at a time when Wolfgang Van Halen is actively pursuing his own musical path with renewed focus and creative energy.

105.7 The Point reported that Wolfgang recently dropped “WVH” from the Mammoth band name and released a new single called “The End.” This signals a fresh chapter in his musical career. The band has also announced a fall 2025 tour, demonstrating Wolfgang’s commitment to establishing his own artistic identity separate from his father’s legacy.

The new Mammoth track showcases Wolfgang’s evolving style while still honoring his heritage. Ultimate Classic Rock noted that “The End” features a guitar intro inspired by Eddie Van Halen’s signature tapping technique. The song blends homage to his father’s legacy with Wolfgang’s own developing sound. This approach reflects the delicate balance Wolfgang maintains between respecting his family’s musical history and forging his own creative path.

Wolfgang’s recent creative partnerships further illustrate his artistic ambitions beyond traditional rock boundaries. Icon Vs. Icon revealed that he collaborated with director Robert Rodriguez and actor Danny Trejo on a horror-themed music video for “The End.” The project pays homage to cult classic elements and brings together unique creative forces from different entertainment spheres.

These developments suggest that Wolfgang continues to honor his father’s memory through subtle musical tributes. His primary focus remains on building Mammoth’s independent reputation in the rock music landscape.
