Former Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar has released a new single inspired by Eddie Van Halen on Spotify.
“Stream the new single now!” Hagar said about the release.
The song serves as a tribute to his former bandmate Eddie Van Halen. It marks another musical connection between the two artists since Van Halen’s passing in 2020.
This latest release builds upon the deep musical bond the two artists shared throughout their careers.
Music journalist Jas Obrecht documented their peak collaboration on Van Halen’s 1986 album ‘5150’. Eddie co-produced the album, showcasing their strong creative partnership.
Archival footage revealed their musical connection extended beyond Van Halen. Eddie Van Halen contributed bass parts to one of Sammy’s solo records. The album was later re-released as ‘I Never Said Goodbye’.
Ultimate Guitar reported Hagar’s revelation about Eddie Van Halen’s final wishes. The guitar legend had expressed interest in touring with him again before his passing.
