Rush has officially announced their 2027 tour dates for South America, UK, and Europe, marking their return to these regions after years of absence. The announcement was shared on Instagram.
The band revealed details about their upcoming “Fifty Something” tour, which will celebrate over 50 years of Rush music while honoring their late bandmate Neil Peart. Geddy Lee also provided insights into their current rehearsal process with new drummers.
“Rush 2027 tour dates in South America, UK & Europe,” the band announced. “Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson to celebrate 50 plus years of rush music, their legacy, and honor late bandmate Neil Peart. Today the band are ecstatic to announce the addition of South America, the United Kingdom and Europe tour dates to the Fifty Something tour, in early 2027. The dates will be the first time the band has played in Europe since 2013 and 17 years since visiting South America.”
Geddy Lee expressed his enthusiasm about returning to these markets. He also shared details about their preparation process.
“We can’t wait to get back to all these cities we haven’t played in so long, as well as hitting some new places we’ve yet to play,” Lee said. “Both Alex and I are loving the hours of rehearsal time we’re spending with Anika and now Loren, learning around 40 songs which will enable us to keep the shows evolving, playing some different songs on different nights.”
Lee also emphasized the band’s commitment to delivering the quality Rush experience fans expect.
“We are thrilled that many of our longstanding crew have come back to help us design the kind of RUSH show that fans have grown accustomed to expect from us,” he continued. “We dearly hope you will come along and help us celebrate 50 years of Rush music, while giving Neil the long overdue tribute he so richly deserves.”
The announcement provides additional details about the band’s new lineup. It also reveals specific tour dates that fans have been eagerly awaiting.
The Rock Revival reported that Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will be joined by Anika Nilles on drums. Nilles is a highly accomplished musician who previously performed with Jeff Beck for over 60 shows. The addition of Nilles represents a significant step for the band as they continue without their longtime drummer Neil Peart, who passed away in 2020.
The tour will also feature Loren Gold on keyboards, as confirmed by Rush’s official website. Gold brings extensive experience from his work with legendary acts including The Who and Roger Daltrey. This adds another layer of musical expertise to the reformed lineup.
AEG Presents confirmed specific UK dates. Shows include Manchester’s Co-op Live on February 12, Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on March 8, and London’s O2 Arena on March 16 and 18. These dates mark Rush’s first European performances since 2013, making them highly anticipated events for longtime fans.
The “Fifty Something” tour represents more than just a return to the stage for Rush. Louder Sound noted that tickets will go on general sale this Friday, February 27 at 10am local time. The tour serves as both a celebration of the band’s five-decade legacy and a tribute to Neil Peart’s enduring influence on progressive rock music.
The tour represents a significant milestone for the band as they prepare to honor their legacy and pay tribute to their late drummer Neil Peart.
