Some think Ozzy Osbourne ripped off Rudy Sarzo, and recently, Sarzo himself addressed those rumors.
The rocker took to X to reply to the music journalist Dave Wight. In his X post, Wight wrote about Carmine Appice’s new album and said Appice pulled in almost every bassist who played with and were ‘ripped off’ by Ozzy Osbourne. Sarzo responded to Wight’s comments and asked for proof:
“What makes you think or what proof do you have that I got ripped off by the Osbournes?”
A user added:
“Bob Daisley was upset when they remastered the two Blizzard albums and re-did the bass and drums but they never ripped anyone off who toured with them.”
The rocker replied, saying he was only ‘compensated’:
“I also performed on 2 records with Ozzy and I was fairly compensated, not ripped off.”
Sarzo Was Not A ‘Bad Influence’ On Osbourne
Osbourne worked with both Sarzo and the late Randy Rhoads. Rhoads left Quiet Riot to join the Blizzard of Ozz in ’79, later bringing in Sarzo from his old band. Apparently, Rhoads’ trust in Sarzo brought him where he is today. In an interview, the rocker recalled Rhoads’ words about him to Osbourne:
