Falling In Reverse frontman Ronnie Radke marked the 20th anniversary of Escape the Fate’s debut album with a heartfelt message honoring the record and those involved in its creation, according to Instagram. The post also drew attention for who Radke chose not to mention.
Radke reflected on the making of “Dying Is Your Latest Fashion” and the people who supported him early in his career. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity and acknowledged how far he’s come since the album’s release.
“20 years ago this (‘Dying Is Your Latest Fashion’) was released,” Radke said. “Thank you to Brett Gurewitz and Sue Lucarelli for taking a chance on this. This was the beginning of the vision of not letting a specific genre define me.”
He continued, reflecting on his journey and thanking those who stood by him through difficult times.
“This serves as a reminder where I came from,” he continued. “I am grateful for the fans, I deserve my success. I earned every bit of it. Thank you Robert’s dad and mom Robert Monte and Omar for your creativeness and putting up with my drug addiction and impatience. I’m glad we remained friends after all these years. Album has no skips.”
Fans quickly noticed that Radke’s message did not include former Escape the Fate bassist Max Green. A fan directly asked about the omission, questioning whether there had been a falling out between the two. Radke offered a brief but pointed response.
The fan asked, “Aww, did you have a fallout with Max? Much love.”
“My life has turned out exactly the way I wanted and hoped for let’s leave it at that,” Radke responded.
Green’s history with the band and Radke stretches back to its earliest days, adding context to why his absence from the anniversary tribute stood out to longtime fans.
Green co-founded Escape the Fate in 2004 and served as the band’s bassist and backing vocalist through much of its early run. He was part of the lineup that recorded “Dying Is Your Latest Fashion” in 2006, the same album Radke celebrated in his anniversary post.
Radke fronted Escape the Fate as its original lead vocalist during that era. He was replaced by Craig Mabbitt in 2008 following legal trouble and a period of incarceration. That shakeup marked the beginning of years of turmoil within the band’s lineup.
Green’s own tenure with Escape the Fate was marked by repeated exits and returns. He left the band in 2012 amid struggles with drug addiction and rejoined in 2013. He departed again in 2014, citing personal reasons unrelated to any specific conflict at the time.
Green later crossed paths with Radke again when he briefly joined Falling In Reverse as bassist, a stint that also ended in his departure. Tensions reportedly grew between Green and the band at the time, though the full details of that split were never made entirely clear.
