Roger Waters Says He’s A Great Fan Of Bob Dylan And Neil Young

Roger Waters was recently a guest on a new episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast and admitted that he was a big fan of Bob Dylan’s and Neil Young’s music.

Bob Dylan and Neil Young are long-time friends who have expressed their admiration for each other’s musicianship whenever possible. Dylan has named Young among his most significant influences, while Young said he was a B student compared to Dylan’s musical talents. The two collaborated on various projects and took the same stage many times. Moreover, Young and Dylan also paid their respects to each other through their lyrics. However, they have been subjected to many comparisons.

While comparing Bob Dylan’s and Neil Young’s talents, David Crosby once said they are both great musicians with different strengths. The musician argued that Dylan is a better poet while Young is a better musician. During a recent interview with the Joe Rogan Experience, former Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters said he appreciates Neil and Bob’s musical talents, as he isn’t interested in popular music.

Roger Waters admitted that he mainly prefers to listen to singer-songwriters, especially Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Waters then said he wouldn’t give a lengthy list of artists as examples because Dylan and Young are ‘at the end of the spectrum,’ which interests him more. So, it is clear that the Pink Floyd icon also appreciates the songwriting and singing talents of the two music legends.

Here is what Roger Waters said:

“I’m not very interested in most popular music. I mean, there are certain people I’m great fans of, mainly the writers, the singer-songwriters, you know. So, Bob Dylan and Neil Young. But I won’t start a long list because I probably could, but it’s that end of the spectrum that I’m more interested in.”
