Roger Waters recently tweeted Nick Mason’s supportive comments about his ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ remaster, though some fans don’t seem too happy about that.

As Waters and Pink Floyd fans get ready for the redux’s full release on October 6th, it seems that pre-released tracks haven’t satisfied some. Still, the bassist carries on promoting the upcoming record, as his official Twitter account shared former bandmate Mason’s support, writing:

“Pink Floyd’s Nick Mason shares opinion on Roger Waters’ ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’ re-recording: ‘Annoyingly, it’s absolutely brilliant.'”

However, some fans weren’t happy about the supportive criticism, as comments started backfiring against Roger’s tweet, claiming Mason supported his former bandmate only not to bruise ‘his ego:’

“He [Nick] knows his friend’s ego. Better pamper him.”

Others were more annoyed by Nick calling the record ‘brilliant’ as a fan tweeted how they felt about the album and whether it was ‘brilliant:’

“No, it isn’t. It’s absolute rubbish. The voice is dreadful on it. A total disappointment. I love Roger, but his remake was a ridiculous waste of time.”

Another fan even claimed the drummer made these comments only for his own interest, saying:

“[Nick is] On the payroll.”

Waters previously had explained how his aim was not to overshadow the original ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ and try to supersede his former bandmate’s work on it.

The bassist stated how he only wanted to honor the original album by giving it a remix, paying homage to the excessive work behind the mega-hit record. Still, it seems that some fans aren’t too satisfied with Waters’ version, as comments seemed to criticize the upcoming remix.
