Roger Waters And David Gilmour To Appear In New Syd Barrett Documentary

A new Syd Barrett documentary titled ‘Have You Got It Yet? The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd’ features appearances by Roger Waters and David Gilmour.

Directed by Roddy Bogawa and the late Storm Thorgerson, the one-and-a-half-hour film will offer an insight into the musician’s rise in the music scene, his struggle with the effects of psychedelic substances, and his subsequent departure from Pink Floyd.

After having its premiere on April 27 at Everyman King’s Cross in London, the documentary is expected to hit theaters later this month. Titled after an unreleased song Barrett presented during his last rehearsal with Pink Floyd, the film features interviews with the late singer’s family, friends, lovers, his bandmate Nick Mason, along with Gilmour and Waters.

Besides them, the film also includes contributions from the Who’s Pete Townshend, Graham Coxon of Blur, Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT, former Pink Floyd managers Peter Jenner and Andrew King, and playwright Tom Stoppard.

The producers obtained permission to include almost 50 songs from Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett’s solo discography in the documentary’s soundtrack. This project, narrated by actor Jason Isaacs, has been in the works since last year.
