Roger Daltrey Reflects On Upcoming The Who Tour, ‘Pete And I Said We’d Be Back’

The Who’s iconic names are back on the road for their fans in 2022. The two remaining members of the band, Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey announced The Who Hits Back tour on the band’s Instagram account and excited their fans.

The Who is considered one of the most iconic rock and roll bands and has inspired many other iconic musicians throughout the years. Formed in 1964, the band suffered through many lineup changes, breakups, and sadly, deaths of band members. Existing as a band for 58 years, they lived a life full of success and fame.

After breaking up a couple of times, the band reunited in 1999 and released their 11th studio album ‘Endless Wire’ in 2006. Later in 2019, the only two remaining members continued to spin the wheel, released ‘Who,’ and followed it up with The Moving On! tour. However, further dates from March 2020 were canceled due to the pandemic.

The fans looked forward to seeing them on stage, and their wishes recently came true with the easing of the pandemic restrictions. The Who announced from their Instagram account that they will be hitting their 2022 tour in April. The pre-sale begins on February 9, and the details of the tour can be found on their website.

Here is the announcement:

“The Who announce a brand new tour for 2022. The Who Hits Back!

Our upcoming North American trek promises to be another rock n’ roll knockout, kicking off the spring leg of the tour in Ft Lauderdale, FL, on April 22 and running through to May 29 in Bethel, NY. The fall leg of the tour starts on October 2, 2022, with a gig in Toronto, ON, and finishes up on November 4 and 5 with two nights in Las Vegas, NV.

The Who Fan Club pre-sale begins on Wednesday, February 9 at 10.00 am local time and runs to Thursday, February 10 at 10.00 pm local time. Full details of the tour can be found on the official Who website.”

Roger Daltrey commented on their The Who Hits Back tour recently and stated that they kept their promise of returning to the stage. He expressed his excitement to bring everyone back and is looking forward to being on stage. He also assured fans that they will bring their A-game.

Daltrey’s comments on the tour are:

“Pete and I said we’d be back, but we didn’t think we’d have to wait for two years for the privilege. This is making the chance to perform feel even more special this time around. So many livelihoods have been impacted due to Covid, so we are thrilled to get everyone back together – the band, the crew, and the fans. We’re gearing up for a great show that hits back in the only way The Who knows how. By giving it everything we’ve got.”
