Robert Plant’s Simple But Emotional Tribute To John Bonham
Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant paid tribute to his late bandmate John Bonham by sharing a new post on his official Instagram account.
John Bonham, also known as ‘Bonzo,’ is considered one of the best drummers in the world due to his powerful and unique drumming style. In 1968, John was brought into the Led Zeppelin by Jimmy Page. He had a successful career with Zepellin and contributed immensely to the band’s career.
Unfortunately, the legendary drummer passed away in September 1980 at the age of 32. The cause of death was asphyxiation from vomit due to excessive alcohol consumption. His passing saddened millions worldwide and scarred his bandmate so much that they decided to disband Led Zeppelin, as it wouldn’t be the same without him.
Back in 2018, a memorial statue of John Bonham playing drums was placed in his hometown of Redditch for his 70th birthday. After three days of Bonzo’s death anniversary, Robert paid his respect to his late bandmate by sharing a photo of himself from the day he visited Bonzo’s statue. Afterward, Robert noted that Bonzo is still the best drummer in the world, and no one could get close to him.
