Ringo Starr revealed the one rule for his band.
Formed in 1989, the band has consistently changed members for different reasons. In this year’s lineup of the All Starr Band, Men at Work’s Colin Hay, Average White Band’s Hamish Stuart, Toto’s Lukather, Edgar Winter, and Kansas’ Warren Ham take place. The band plays 40 dates each year, 20 in spring and 20 in fall.
During his interview with Billboard, the rocker said of the lineup:
“We love it. I know the audience loves me. And I love them.”
Despite the lineup changes, Starr has a rule for every member. He told Billboard:
“And the band has only one rule: We’re not there to be miserable. And I’ll support you to the best of my ability, and I expect the same from you. We do it for each other. I’ve had some people that thought they didn’t have to do that, and they played sh*t.”
The band finished their latest tour just on October 13, and the following tour is to come next spring.
Starr is now releasing new music, and his latest drop came on the same day the band finished touring. The latest EP features a collaboration with Paul McCartney and includes a song by All Starr Band member Steve Lukather and his Toto bandmate Joe Williams. You can listen to the EP below.
