Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea recently took to X to despise the Boston Celtics due to an odd reason following their win against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The bassist wrote, expressing his reaction to the Celtics’ performance against his favorite team:

“It pains my heart to say that Boston is a better team because I hate the f*cking Celtics. They beat the sh*t out of the Lakers, and they didn’t flex or act arrogantly; they just played at a way higher level than your favorite team on the planet and left the court with class. F*ck, I hate them.”

Fan Reactions To Flea’s Words

Under Flea’s post, the Celtics and Lakers fans gathered and responded to the musician’s words about the two teams. One of them wrote, understanding his point:

“I respect you, Micheal. The Celtics are playing better and are all class. It’s okay to hate them. I hate the Lakers, but I also love your contributions to the world. We can coexist.”

A Celtics fan said:

“Boston loves you, Flea!”

Another Lakers fan, on the other hand, tried to reassure the rocker by noting:

“This will be a growing year for the Lakers’ new and young talent. They had great mid-game teamwork, egos checked, and team first. Much for them to think on moving forward.”

Flea’s Ongoing Support For The Lakers

Flea often comments on the platform, especially after the Lakers games, as a long-time fan of the team. In May, the Lakers lost 108-103 to the Denver Nuggets, making it 0-2 in the Western Conference finals. Afterward, Flea shared his disappointment about how the team played, writing:

“Really hard f*cking loss to take. Go lakers. F*ck.”

In a recent game, the Lakers tried but lost 126-115 to the Celtics, the NBA’s top team, on Christmas Day. Boston, now 23-6, had six players scoring in double figures. The Lakers, falling to 16-15, couldn’t catch up after a bad start, even with Anthony Davis scoring 40 points. LeBron James only made 16 points, possibly affected by an earlier collision.
