Randy Blythe, the vocalist of Lamb of God, revealed his choice for an alternative band to front in a recent interview with BANGERTV / All Metal.

When asked about which band he would choose to front aside from Lamb of God, Blythe provided a straightforward answer. “I’ve already done it. Not Lamb of God,” he said. “I sing for Bad Brains sometimes. So, I’ve done it.”

The statement highlights Blythe’s previous collaborations with the legendary hardcore punk band Bad Brains. It also demonstrates his versatility as a vocalist beyond his primary role in Lamb of God.

Blythe’s connection with Bad Brains extends beyond occasional performances. It reflects a long-standing admiration for the band and its influence on his career.

Dallas Observer revealed that Blythe considers a Bad Brains show in Virginia Beach one of the best concerts he’s ever seen. H.R.’s stage presence became a significant inspiration for his own performances.

His admiration transformed into direct collaboration in June 2017. Loudwire documented Blythe’s special performance with Bad Brains during bassist Darryl Jenifer’s art exhibition. “For us to just come out and play and nobody to know and there be like 75 people in this art gallery, it was a spiritual experience for me,” Blythe shared. “The vibe was so positive. Everybody was so freaking happy.”

Ketagalan Media noted Blythe’s support for the band during challenging times. He stepped in to handle vocals when H.R. couldn’t perform the faster songs due to health reasons.

The relationship between Blythe and Bad Brains continues to grow. Discussions are underway for future collaborations, including a potential new punk rock project with Bad Brains bassist Darryl Jenifer.
