Skid Row bassist Rachel Bolan recently addressed fans’ ongoing requests for a reunion with former singer Sebastian Bach. He also provided updates on the band’s current search for a new vocalist in an interview with Mistress Carrie Podcast.

Bolan’s comments came in response to a direct question about whether he finds it annoying that people still bring up the idea of a Skid Row reunion with Sebastian Bach and if he gets tired of being asked about it.

“We don’t get it as much as we used to. But I’m just indifferent to it now,” Bolan said. “It’s just like if you haven’t learned by now, you’re never going to learn.”

The bassist then shifted focus to the band’s current singer search. He revealed the overwhelming response they’ve received.

“I mean the music’s still there and like with this singer search that we’re doing now, we’re just taking our time,” he continued. “We’re not in the middle of a record. We don’t have a tour booked. So we’re just taking our time and we’ve listened to over 300 submissions, something like that. And that’s why I’m laughing because I can’t believe the response to it.”

Bolan also mentioned additional interest from industry contacts and fans making recommendations.

“And then outside of that, there was about another 20 – 25 of people saying, ‘Hey, man. I know this guy. He’s, you know, he’s from LA. You should go check him out.’ Stuff like that or people sending us stuff,” he said. “So we have a few people that really picked our interest that we’re bringing into the second phase. Not meaning that that whole thing stops, but like I said, we have the luxury of time and we’re using it.”

The band’s current vocalist search comes after nearly three decades of lineup changes since Sebastian Bach’s departure from the group.

Skid Row has been without a permanent lead singer since 2024. The band split with Erik Grönwall, who had fronted the group after joining in 2022. Grönwall’s tenure followed the departure of ZP Theart in 2015, who had served as the band’s vocalist for several years. The revolving door of singers reflects the ongoing challenge the band has faced in finding a permanent replacement for their original frontman.

Johnny Solinger served as the band’s vocalist for more than 15 years after Bach’s exit in 1996, before Grönwall and Theart. Solinger’s long tenure with the group represented the most stable period for Skid Row’s lineup following Bach’s departure. The band never achieved the same commercial success they experienced during their early years with Bach.

Bach himself has addressed the reunion speculation in past interviews. He stated that he has not been invited back to the band and that any potential reunion would depend on the remaining members reaching out to him. The singer’s comments suggest that despite fan demand for a reunion, there appears to be little movement from either side toward reconciliation.

The band’s methodical approach to their current singer search, as described by Bolan, indicates they are prioritizing finding the right fit over rushing to fill the position. Skid Row appears committed to taking the time necessary to identify their next permanent vocalist with over 300 submissions received and no immediate touring or recording commitments.
