The announcement highlighted the distinctive approach the band will take for these shows.

“Comprised of all-new arrangements crafted specifically for the occasion and enhanced by assembled ensembles, the end result will be a precious few unique and intimate performances unlike any previous QOTSA tour,” they continued. “All tickets on sale Friday, June 27th at 10am local time.”

The Catacombs Tour represents a departure from the band’s typical large-venue performances. It focuses instead on historic theater settings.

This announcement comes as Queens of the Stone Age continues to explore new creative territories following their recent projects. Ultimate Classic Rock reported that the 11-date trek will begin on October 2 in Chicago and conclude on November 21 in New Orleans. The tour includes stops in Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Los Angeles, and other major cities.

The concept for The Catacombs Tour draws inspiration from the band’s recent creative endeavors. Consequence noted that Queens of the Stone Age crafted these new arrangements in part from the collective experience of their Alive in the Catacombs concert film project.

The band has emphasized the special nature of these theater performances. They encouraged fans to prepare accordingly. Metal Injection revealed that the band noted attendees should dress appropriately for the occasion.

“You’ll want to look as good as the music is going to sound on this very special evening at the theater,” the band stated in their announcement.

These intimate performances mark a significant shift from Queens of the Stone Age’s traditional touring approach. They offer fans a unique opportunity to experience the band’s music in carefully selected historic venues across North America.
