Pink Calls Dolly Parton The ‘One Of A Kind Unicorn’

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame recently inducted its 2022 lineup of artists, and one of the biggest stars of the night was the culturally iconic Dolly Parton. Pink had the honor of inducting Parton, and the singer praised her outstanding career, including all the good she has done with the platform she has to help the communities in need.
“I don’t think there is a person alive that can say they haven’t loved Dolly Parton or a Dolly Parton song,” said Pink to discuss the impact Dolly has had on the music industry. “She really is a unicorn. She is one of a kind, she’s as I’m going to say tonight, she’s had a song chart in all in the last seven decades, and that’s the most of any artist. She wrote, ‘I Will Always Love You.’”
Pink continued to praise Dolly not only as a musician who has been around for many years but also as a person who cares so much for communities. She said, “She’s incredible, and the things she has done as well philanthropically, I hope that’s a word. She helped towns rebuild after the wildfires, incentives for kids to finish high school.”
A long segment was included in the ceremony to honor Parton with renditions of ‘Jolene,’ ‘9 to 5,’ ‘Coat of Many Colors,’ and a brand new song she wrote especially for the occasion called ‘Rockin.’’ The performances included the superstar and other inductees as well as guests who joined in on the fun.
