In 2022, Perry Farrell and the band’s original line-up reunited for their first concert in 25 years. After the enthusiastic reception of their first three concerts in smaller venues, they had high hopes for their main stage set at the Lollapalooza (music festival) this summer. But according to Farrell, it didn’t work out as they expected. In a recent interview with Spin, he had this to say on the situation:
“The night before we did that show, we thought, this is gonna be amazing. We’re gonna go out there, and it should be even bigger and greater. We should have our asses kissed all over every last square inch of our butt. Right? Nope, not the case. It was terrible. It was about 105 degrees up there, and young people were not aware of who we were.”
He also added about their unfortunate performance at Lollapalooza:
“Some of the guys were emotional about the audience size because we didn’t get the turnout. It’s a very good thing for a musician to get humbled every once in a while. It keeps you honest, and it keeps you focused on why you’re truly doing it.”
Is ‘Porno For Pyros’ Really Back?

After releasing their self-titled debut album ‘Porno For Pyros’ in 1993 and ‘Good God’s Urge’ in 1996, Porno For Pyros took a break from touring for 26 years. Now they have played a few concerts. The band first announced that they were going on a ‘Farewell Tour’ and then announced that they were postponing the tour to allow them to complete new songs. There are many speculations about the situation. We have covered the issue in this story.
In the same interview, Perry Farrell said the following about their new songs, ‘Agua’ and ‘Fingernail’, which caused the postponement of their farewell tour:
“If you give people three new songs from a classic band, they’re gonna eat it up, and you’re gonna eat it up,”
The controversial final tour of Porno For Pyros starts in February 2024.
