Patrick Stump recently appreciated how one underrated Fall Out Boy piece was finally celebrated through fan recognition during a recent show. The band’s official Instagram account shared the moment Stump’s bandmate and bassist, Pete Wentz, gave a brief speech before playing the song, making a few jokes and encouraging the audience.

Fall Out Boy has rocked the charts with different tracks, but when it came to one particular song, it felt to the band that it was a bit underappreciated. The track in question was ‘Headfirst Slide into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet,’ released almost two decades ago, and it was an unknown piece from their catalog when compared to the rest of the act’s discography.

It seems; however, the track is finally getting recognized, as, during a recent gig, the act played the song in front of an enthusiastic audience who knew the song word by word. Stump and Wentz, especially, were really pleased with that; even making a brief speech to celebrate the songs’ ‘side effects’ and the fans.

Wentz’s enthusiastic speech before starting the show followed:

“I was told if we played this song live, it would literally melt people’s f*cking faces. So let’s see some f*cking melted faces.”

Fall Out Boy’s post caption also accompanied Pete’s statements by declaring:

“Hold onto your faces, folks.”

It’s evident that the song is finally getting recognition and appreciation from fans, especially the crowd the band performed for in the video. So, it’s time to celebrate Fall Out Boy and discover their early discography by giving them a shot, given you’re unfamiliar with their early years.
