Paramore Share An Ironic Statement About Winning Two Grammys

Paramore became the first band with a frontwoman to win not one, but two Grammys.

The band secured two wins at the 2024 Grammy Awards. The initial victory was in the category of Best Rock Album for their 2023 release, ‘This Is Why,’ and the album’s title track received the Best Alternative Music Performance award. Among the bands they beat, there was Metallica.

In addition, Foo Fighters, Greta Van Fleet, and Queens of the Stone Age were among the nominees.

Paramore was not seen during the ceremony, which they later clarified, with a post on Instagram ironically celebrating their win from home. In the caption, they wrote:

“And they didn’t even leave the house. Thank you Recording Academy.”

Who Else Was Nominated?

Other nominees in the Best Alternative Music Performance category this year included Alvvays’ ‘Belinda Says,’ Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Body Paint,’ Boygenius’ ‘Cool About It,’ and Lana Del Rey’s ‘A&W.’ Paramore outshone competitors such as Foo Fighters, Metallica, Paramore themselves, and Queens of the Stone Age to secure the Best Rock Album award.

Previously, Hayley Williams and Taylor York had both received a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song with ‘Ain’t It Fun.’ However, the recent accolades mark Paramore’s first official triumphs.

In October, Paramore unveiled the remix album ‘Re: This Is Why,’ which featured reinterpretations of the LP’s tracks by artists like Panda Bear, Romy from the xx, Bartees Strange, Wet Leg, and others.
