TMZ’s exclusive aerial photography of the Buckinghamshire mansion grounds offers the first clear view of where the Black Sabbath frontman will be laid to rest.
The Buckinghamshire estate holds significant history beyond its connection to the Prince of Darkness. House Beautiful reported that the property known as Welders House is a Grade II listed mansion built between 1898 and 1899. It previously served as a women’s psychiatric hospital before the Osbournes purchased it in 1993.
The mansion’s haunting past has not gone unnoticed by the family. View noted that their son Jack has described eerie experiences at the estate. He claimed it is haunted due to its former use as a psychiatric facility.
Prior to his death, Ozzy and his wife Sharon had ambitious plans for the historic property. House Beautiful detailed that the couple planned to renovate the mansion with an extension dedicated to his rehabilitation. The plans included facilities such as a health and welfare exercise studio, art studio, pool house, spa, and additional parking for caretakers.
The renovation plans were approved in 2022. This reflected the couple’s intent to make the estate Ozzy’s permanent home after his final performances. The decision to be buried on the grounds of this historically significant property adds another chapter to the mansion’s storied past.
