Sharon Osbourne and Jack Osbourne have confirmed the creation of an AI avatar of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, according to License Global. The announcement was made at Licensing Expo 2026, where the family revealed a partnership with a company called Hyperreal to create Ozzy’s digital DNA — capturing his voice, image, and movement.

Sharon Osbourne spoke about the scope and ambition of the project, describing what fans can expect from the interactive experience.

“The things that you can do with that are just endless,” Sharon Osbourne said. “You can ask Ozzy anything, and he will answer you in his own voice — and the answers will be what Ozzy would have said. We’re going to take it all around the world. People can talk to him and he will talk back.”

Jack Osbourne also weighed in on the technology behind the avatar, highlighting both its accuracy and its commercial potential.

“It’s kind of scary how it’s really very accurate,” Jack Osbourne said. “He will exist digitally as himself for as long as we have computers. Technology has come such a long way to where it’s almost drag and drop. You could shoot a template for a commercial … literally prompt what you want digital Ozzy to do in that commercial and you just drop it in. It’s that simple now.”

The Osbourne family has not yet announced a specific launch date for the AI avatar experience.

The project brings together two specialized companies to deliver the experience. As Music News reported, Hyperreal — the company behind the patented Digital DNA process — is building Ozzy’s authenticated avatar. Proto will power the holographic presence that allows fans to interact with it in person.

Hyperreal is no stranger to high-profile projects of this kind. Metal Injection noted that the company is known for providing large AI avatars at concerts and other live events. This makes it a natural fit for a project aimed at bringing Ozzy’s likeness to audiences around the world.

The scale of the ambition behind the project is significant. The Osbournes have made clear that the avatar is not intended to be a one-off novelty but a long-term platform for fan engagement. It could be deployed at venues globally and adapted for commercial use with minimal effort.

During the Licensing Expo panel, Jack Osbourne revealed that Hyperreal specializes in large AI avatars built specifically for concerts and live events, as The Music reported. This detail underscores the family’s intention to bring the digital Ozzy experience to major venues rather than limit it to online platforms.

The Ozzy Osbourne AI avatar project reflects a broader trend in the entertainment industry, where the likenesses of iconic artists are being preserved and reactivated through emerging technology. For the Osbourne family, the initiative appears to be as much about legacy as it is about innovation. It ensures that Ozzy’s presence, voice, and personality remain accessible to fans for generations to come.
