Danny Tantrum, a Texas-based noise artist, performed at the Coral Snake in Texas alongside Schizing Out and Terminull. The performance, however, took a controversial turn that left attendees and venue staff shocked.
During the set, Tantrum climbed onto a stool and shocked the audience by defecating on stage and immediately consuming it, in an act similar to GG Allin. Tantrum later posted a video of the incident on Instagram.
In the footage, venue staff can be seen attempting to intervene but were unable to stop the act before it unfolded. The performance was ultimately cut short after the incident.
The Coral Snake staff dealt with the situation by making Tantrum clean up the mess with cleaning supplies and even tried to get audience members who seemed to enjoy the act to help with the cleanup.
Even though Tantrum said the act wasn’t meant to disrespect the venue, the Coral Snake didn’t see it that way. They sent a message to other local venues on social media, warning them not to book Tantrum in the future because of the incident. “All venues in Austin, do not book this person unless you want sh*t on your stage and equipment. There was no respect or regard for anyone working and no permission to sh*t on stage.”
And apparently, this isn’t the first time the performer shocked their audience with a similar performance. A previous video on their Instagram features a similar performance from several months ago.
