Noel Gallagher Announces The Release Date Of New Oasis Documentary
In a recent tweet posted on his Twitter, Noel Gallagher has revealed the date of release of Oasis’ brand new documentary titled ‘Oasis Knebworth 1996,’ which was co-produced by him and his brother Liam Gallagher.
Oasis famously performed two record-breaking shows at Knebworth Park in the UK on August 10 and 11, 1996 which was included more than a quarter of a million Oasis fans in two days. Breaking the UK box office records, the concert’s tickets sold out in less than 24 hours with queues forming outside the offices on the same night they went on sale on May 11, 1996. As an interesting fact, it is also known that more than 2% of the UK’s population tried to buy tickets for the concerts.
Featuring a setlist including their ‘Columbia,’ ‘Acquiesce,’ ‘Champagne Supernova,’ ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger,’ ‘Live Forever,’ and ‘I Am The Walrus’ which was performed alongside an orchestra and their iconic song ‘Wonderwall,’ Knebworth concerts marked a peak of the band’s career, being a historical moment both for the band and their fans.
The new Oasis documentary will feature exclusive footage of the concert, celebrating the shows’ 25th anniversary. The documentary is directed by Grammy Award-winner Jake Scott and will be produced by Black Dog Films. Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher will also serve as executive producers of the documentary.
