Shadows Fall vocalist Brian Fair discussed the band’s upcoming release strategy in a recent interview with Thunder Underground podcast.

“We’re working on a full album’s worth of material,” Fair said. “But I feel like it’s gonna drop kind of in chunks and then hopefully the rest of it all at once kind of thing.”

“We just couldn’t sit on it,” he continued. “We were just so excited with how that tune came out. It’s kind of a different world now too, where you can release singles leading up to more songs and keeping people interested.”

The band adapts to modern music industry practices by releasing their comeback material gradually instead of waiting to complete a full album.

This new approach signifies a major change for the band after years of inactivity in releasing new material.

105.7 The Point reported that the band’s latest single “In The Grey” marks their first new material in 12 years since their 2012 album “Fire from the Sky.”

Fair shared his enthusiasm about the new material in a separate statement. “The idea began flowing, the energy started building and new songs began taking form out of the chaos,” he revealed to Loudersound.

The band completed a successful reunion show in December 2023. The Aquarian noted their plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of “The War Within” with a special show at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts, on December 21, 2024.

Fair emphasized their careful approach to the comeback. “We’re gonna take our time, ’cause there’s really no deadline involved,” he stated, highlighting their focus on quality over rushed releases.
