Sick Of It All singer Lou Koller recently provided an emotional update on his ongoing cancer battle. He shared a heartfelt video message with fans on Sick Of It All’s Instagram account.
The update came after Koller announced in September that his cancer had returned, just four months after celebrating being declared cancer-free. In his latest message, he addressed his current treatment status and expressed gratitude to his support system.
“Hey, everybody. What’s up? It’s Lou. It’s been a while. To give you an update, there’s not really much to tell,” Koller said. “The treatments are going okay. They’re not really doing much. I’m kind of at a stalemate where the tumors aren’t growing and they’re not spreading, but they’re not shrinking either. So the plan is to keep going with the treatments and see what happens. And after that, we’ll make a new plan.”
The singer took time to acknowledge those who have supported him through his health journey.
“I wanna take this opportunity to thank my brother Matt and my sister-in-law Connie for taking such good care of me, letting me live in their house and helping me through this,” he continued. “I wanna thank all of you for all the positive messages, the prayers and all of the well wishes.”
Koller concluded his message with holiday wishes and encouragement for his fans.
“Thank you very much. Keep ’em coming, keep ’em coming. And I hope y’all have a great Christmas and a happy New Year,” he said. “I hope next year’s better year for all of us. Take care of each other, all right?! See you around.”
Lou Koller has been publicly battling esophageal cancer since his diagnosis in June 2024. After undergoing chemotherapy and being declared cancer-free in May 2025, he sadly revealed that the disease returned later that year and has remained a serious health fight, with current treatments described as keeping the tumors stable but not shrinking them.
Throughout his battle, Koller has shared updates directly with fans and received widespread support from the hardcore community, including benefit concerts and a fundraising campaign organized by his brother and bandmate Pete Koller to help with medical costs. Despite the setbacks, Lou continues treatment and expresses gratitude for the outpouring of encouragement as he faces this ongoing challenge.
