During a recent chat with American Musical Supply at the NAMM 2025 Ibanez booth, Nita Strauss talked about whether she was jealous of Kane Roberts when he replaced her on the Alice Cooper tour in 2022.
“I guess so,” the guitarist replied when asked if returning to Cooper’s band feels like home again. “I was only away from the Alice band for one tour.”
The host stepped in and said, “It just seemed longer it was a big deal.” Nita replied, “It was a bigger deal out there than it was in here. The scene makes a bigger deal out of things without realizing how it’s going. I think I missed less than 20 shows or something.”
“It was one short tour that they did without me and Kane Roberts filled in, who is so amazing, such an incredible player. I got to see the show with Kane and I loved it. I actually stayed behind on the Demi Levator tour. I stayed in Denver,” the rocker revealed.
When asked whether she was jealous to get back on stage with Cooper, Strauss responded, “No, I was so happy cuz I’m a Big Kane Roberts fan. Watching the guys and Kane… He just has such a unique style and he’s so cool on stage.”
“I loved seeing it and I wish that I could have been on the tour with him and got to see it all the time,” Nita mentioned her wish to tour with Roberts. When the host said, “Well, maybe next year,” she stated, “Maybe so. Four guitar players. Make it happen.”
“Not at the moment,” Strauss also told the host when asked whether there are any new solo stuff coming out soon.
In 2022, Strauss left Cooper’s band after eight years and joined Demi Lovato’s band. Three months later, she played with Cooper for one show and rejoined his band in 2023. Nita announced in November that she was taking another break, and Orianthi would fill in for her for shows from late January to mid-February 2025.
Still, Orianthi recently shared on X that she has a torn hamstring, hip, and lower back issues. So, she won’t be able to join Alice on the upcoming tour. Gilby Clarke will replace her.
