Nita Strauss Pens A Farewell Letter After Hearing The Death Of Alexi Laiho

Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss revealed her feelings about the passing of Children Of Bodom frontman Alexi Laiho by sharing a new post on her official Instagram account.

Yesterday, the music community was shocked after learning about the sudden death of the Finnish frontman, Alexi Laiho, who passed away at the age of 41. Unfortunately, the cause of death is not certain yet.

Nita Strauss was also devastated after learning this news and wanted to share her feelings on social media. In the caption of her Instagram post, Strauss stated that Alexi was one of the main inspiration sources for her when she got serious about playing guitar. She mentioned that Alexi’s influence can be seen in her own songwriting as well.

Furthermore, Nita said that Laiho and Children Of Bodom always sounded fun and created great songs as she paid her tribute to the late musician. She also sent her condolences to Alexi’s family and friends.

Here is what Nita Strauss said in the caption of her post:

“Such devastating news to hear of Alexi Laiho’s passing. Alexi was one of my biggest inspirations when I got serious about playing guitar. I was so into Vai, Satriani, and the masters… but I loved heavy music. So Children of Bodom was a bridge between the two for this young, metal starved guitar player. His influence is still vastly apparent in my own songwriting and the way I approach adding keyboard and guitar harmonies.

Alexi’s songs, with Bodom and also Sinergy, another band of his that I loved, always sounded fun. Heavy, brutal… fun. I always try to emulate that exact mix, but no one did it better than him.

RIP to a legend. Sending lots of love to his family, bandmates, and to my dear Kim Dylla.”
