Nita Strauss Explains How It Feels To Be The First Female Ibanez Signature Artist

Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss shared her feelings about being the first female Ibanez signature artist during a recent appearance on The Sessions Panel.

In the conversation, Nita stated that she has been working with Ibanez for ten years between 2008 and 2018 and mentioned that she always loved the brand since the beginning.

While saying that it was such an honor to be the first female Ibanez signature artist with her Ibanez Jiva, she also said that it is so huge to be side by side with the names such as Steve Vai and Joe Satriani.

Additionally, Nita wanted to show her gratitude to her boyfriend and manager, Josh V, and pointed out that he was one of the reasons why she could make such a great deal with Ibanez.

Here is what Nita Strauss said:

“I should say before I move on from that subject, I’m so lucky that Josh’ aside from being a fantastic boyfriend and drummer, is a great manager.

He’s been managing my career since 2015, and he handles a big portion of that workload, the business nuts and bolts of it.

When I used to really do everything myself, I was my own fake manager, and I would send emails, and my manager was never available to talk on the phone because it was just me.”

She continued:

“I was constantly getting taken advantage of. So it is important to have good people around you as well.

For my signature guitar, the Ibanez Jiva, I’ve been an artist for 10 years from 2008 to 2018, and then in 2018, I became the first female to be a signature artist, which was a huge, huge honor.

Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, all those names, these are all Ibanez artists. So to be the first girl that got to do it was huge.”
